Job Title: Middle School Enrichment Activity Lead
Description: Lead a class for 12-25 students in R.O.C.K.’s After-School Program for middle
school students. Available positions:
● After-school Tech Lead
● After-school Cooking Lead
● After-school Art/Fashion Lead
● After-school Jóvenes Unidos Lead (class is centered on working with students
currently enrolled in ELD courses)
Pay: Minimum Wage – $17/hour depending on experience, education and/or length of time
with the organization
Commitment: Program runs August 21, 2017 – June 6, 2018;
M, W, Th 2:40 pm – 6:00pm; T & F, 12:50 pm – 6:00pm; until June 6th, 2018
Mandatory Orientation : Monday, August 14 – Friday, August 18 ; 9:00am – 4:00pm
Start Date: August 14, 2017

● 48 college credits from an accredited college or university OR successful completion of
the Instructional Aide Exam
● 1 year experience in working with children
● Desire to work with at-risk, urban children
● Sense of humor
● Have a reliable means of transportation to and from program
● Bi-lingual in Spanish, Cantonese and/or Samoan is a plus

● Lead a variety of group activities for 15 – 25 students
● Lead academic help and activities for 15-25 students
● Assist in various tasks during Community Time
● Complete lesson plans
● Manage attendance
● Plan and facilitate events and activities with youth
● Collaborate with various community partners to provide workshops and trainings for
● Manage 1-2 class assistants
● Create and maintain a safe and respectful learning environment
● Be a leader and role model to youth
● Setup and cleanup program spaces
● Develop positive relationships with students, teachers and staff
● Maintain communication with Program Coordinators
● Attend all scheduled program events
● Assist in planning program wide celebrations
● Attend all scheduled staff meetings and individual meetings
● Implement R.O.C.K. Curriculum (e.g., R.O.C.K. Virtues, R.O.C.K. Curriculum)
